Children are born to learn! This program will help parents find out how to encourage their child's learning throughout the early years. Topics covered with include how to support your child's development, effective discipline, creating a learning friendly household, and how to avoid some common parenting mistakes. A snack and free childcare is provided.

What was Appleton like during the Progressive Era (1850 – 1920)? The turn of the century was a period of speculation and excitement. Americans felt the excitement of world fairs and new technologies entering their daily lives. This new exhibit at the History Museum hinges on Appleton’s evolution from a fledgling manufacturing town to a modern industrial center. Through a collection of 3,000 photographs, amateur photographer W.D. Schlafer captured this rapidly changing environment during the Progressive Era in the Fox Cities. Visitors will see how much Appleton and the Fox Cities evolved as new technologies and ideas changed the lives of area residents during this transformative period.
Runway for Life is a night of Food, Fashion and Fun!
Geology Rocks! incorporates history, art, personal experiences, group activities, regional jobs and Wisconsin’s third largest industry. This exhibit has it all: fossils, gems, jewelry, killer asteroids, volcanoes, earthquakes, minerals, lapidary, crystals, bedrock, mining, collecting, exhibit graphics and hands-on interactives… and, of course, lots of fascinating rocks!

Step into a comical world of 1950's pop culture with Ricky Bernstein's Kitchen Dreams. Using glass, aluminum and childhood memories, artist Ricky Bernstein pieces together everyday life through a caricature of social roles and cultural icons. Bernstein;s life-sized collages animate a bold, bright, somewhat surreal world, bound to bring you a good belly laugh. Eat Well, Play Well, a special exhibit running April 7 to Sept. 9 at The Building for Kids Children’s Museum, encourages healthy living by teaching the science of making healthy food choices and helping children and adults discover there are many fun and interesting ways to stay active.Visitors will discover through interactive exhibits what an appropriate serving size looks like, see firsthand what it takes to burn off calories, test their flexibility and balance, review the latest clinical research and realize they can reduce their risk of disease with healthy choices
This once-monthly event will cover various aspects of living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other memory loss-related illnesses.
Consisting of 48 individual mosaics created by people affected by cancer and other illnesses, the mosaic wall uses creative self-expression as a powerful vehicle for holistic healing of body, mind, and spirit. This project is sponcered by Beacon House, Inc., a non-profit, volunteer sustained resourse center in Green Bay whose mission is to support the life changing process of healing. Event is free. Will be on exhibit May 1 through 31, 2012.
