St. Vincent Hospital's Taking Time support group meets on the first Wednesday of the month from 6:30 to 8 P.M. in the St. Vincent Regional Cancer Center conference room in Green Bay. The support group is a place to meet others who are faced with the challenge of living with cancer. It is open to patients, family members, and friends.

Heckrodt Wetland Reserve's early childhood program series, "ToddlerTrails," meets the first and third Thursday of every month from 10 to 11 A.M. at the Heckrodt Nature Center. The program is designed for toddlers 12 to 36 months, accompanied by a parent or other adult.
Toddlers use their senses to explore their worlds every day -- touching, smelling, seeing, and listening. Toddler Trails provides a child-friendly experience guided by a naturalist, where they can explore nature using all these senses and more!
The fee for Toddler Trails is $4 per adult/child pair, $2 for additional older siblings. Note that toddlers require parental assistance; older siblings must be able to attend to themselves as program participants. A discounted rate for three consecutive sessions is available for $10/adult-child pair. There is no charge for children under 12 months or additional adults.

These are Intermediate Level Rides, which means the pace is 14-16 mph; the rider needs to have Intermediate cycling skills, being able to ride in a group & assist in repairs; may include mid-range terrain with some hills, be brisk but socially paced, with occasional stops to re-group & distance of 20-30 miles; ride will include a Leader &/or someone who will sweep the group during the ride, assist with repairs/issues & try to keep the group together.

Ruby’s Pantry Food Distribution is a faith based, non-profit, community outreach of Home and Away Ministries, Pine City, MN. Jubilee Ministries, Readfield, hosts Ruby’s Pantry the first Saturday of every month. This is not a government-funded program; no income eligibility requirements; anyone who is in need may receive from this food distribution. Ruby’s Pantry is a hand up; ministering to those that fall between the income cracks and/or not qualifying for other programs.
NORML-National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws mission is to educate and move public opinion sufficiently to achieve the repeal of marijuana prohibition so that the responsible use of cannabis by adults is no longer subject to penalty. Bates, the author of seven books on the Northwoods and Upper Midwest and a contributor to four others, will present a talk entitled “Keynotes of Beauty: Celebrating Wisconsin's Northwoods.” A reception and book signing will follow his presentation.
The evening will also feature the best creative works submitted by middle school students from four area school districts who will receive writing instruction from Bates at Mosquito Hill on three days in September. Students selected from middle schools in New London, Hortonville/Greenville, Shiocton and Appleton will take part in a one-day workshop and have their submissions judged by a panel of local writers.
Admission is $15 and tickets are available by calling the nature center. Seating is limited so please reserve your seat before September 21.

Cottonwood bark carving is different than most other forms of wood carving because there are no patterns to follow.
