ComedyCity is the Green Bay area's longest-running comedy club. Each show puts two teams of improvisational comedians onstage to compete for laughs. Audience suggestions inspire scenes, songs, and sketches. Performances at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and also 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. ComedyCity is smoke free and always all-age appropriate. Reservations are recommended due to strong demand.

Fiberscapes – Experience Paper in 3-D.

Exhibit-goers wearing 3-D glasses take an exciting walk inside a sheet of paper. Enlarged fiber microscope images are projected onto the walls and floor, surrounding the visitors and inviting them to reach out amongst the fibers. There will also be a special display of prints and paper made from unique materials, such as: silk, cattails, & corn husks – an aesthetic beauty which generates a scientific interest. Included in regular admission price – members free, families - $12, adults - $5, seniors - $4, students - $3. Event runs 10am-4pm Mon-Sat thru May 31st 2010.

This local history exhibit focuses on the landscapes and buildings of Oshkosh in the mid-1910s and showcases more than 50 large-scale panoramic photos and artifacts to bring Oshkosh history to life. This stunning display takes you through the lens and around the town into the memories of Oshkosh past.

Downtown Appleton has always been known for some great music, and Fun Luvin' in the 90s was no exception. Many bands in the Fox Valley got their start playing at the coffee shop where their high school friends came to see the shows. It was a small, hot, crowded space, but people always came to hear the music. It's been years since many of those great bands played together, so we are hosting a reunion show of sorts for bands like Sunday Flood, Pudge and Anything French (formerly known as Mr. Dunbar). We may even have a few unannounced special guests from back in the day as well! It's sure to be a great night of music! ($5 cover / All Ages Show)

EAA’s Family Flightfest: Discover the Excitement of Flight

Break out of the boredom. Bring the kids and grandkids to discover the breathtaking excitement of flight at EAA AirVenture Museum’s Family Flight Fest on March 20 and 21. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., your family can celebrate the coming spring flying season at this fun, interactive, entertaining (and subtly educational) weekend.

Show off your Paper Airplane building and flying expertise with our new Power Launcher—sure to make the competition better than ever. Experience the thrill of flying in the Wright Flyer Simulator and the challenge of the cockpit climb. Don’t miss the brand new model airplane exhibit that opens that weekend with some of the most detailed and exact models ever made. Be a super sleuth with the AirVenture Museum scavenger hunt or check out the Radio Control Planes, craft projects and artist area.

Lunch will be available to purchase from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will include some healthy choices and some of kids’ favorites. All this and more is coming Saturday and Sunday, March 20-21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Family Flightfest at the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh.

“Each year, Family Flightfest welcomes visitors of all ages from toddlers to grandparents who come and have a great time with the activities and playing games, while learning more about flight and sport aviation.,” said Kathy Hanson, the EAA AirVenture Museum’s manager of visitor services.

“Our world-class museum is dedicated to recreational flight and innovations in aviation, and is a great family attraction at any time of the year,” noted Tom Poberezny, EAA President. “Even if you’re not a pilot, Family Flightfest weekend is a great way to participate in aviation. There are more attractions and activities for the family, so whether you’ve visited our museum a dozen times before or are coming for the first time, the Family Flightfest offers something new and exciting.”

EAA’s Family Flightfest is included with regular museum admission: $8.75 for adults, $7.75 for seniors (age 62 or older), and $6.75 for children ages 6-17. A family rate is also available for $22.00. Those under 5 are admitted for free. EAA members receive free museum admission year-round and family memberships are available.

Abrams Spotlight Productions, Inc. will be presenting their sixteenth production, CLUE: The Musical. Based upon Parker Brothers classic board game, book by Peter DePietro, music by Galen Blum, Wayne Barker and Vinnie Martucci, and lyrics by Tom Chiodo. The internationally popular game is now a fun filled musical which brings the world's best know suspects to life and invites the audience to help solve the mystery: who killed Mr. Boddy (Bill Koehne), in what room and with what weapon. The audience receives forms to help them deduce the solution from clues given throughout the fun filled evening. Three audience members choose from cards representing the potential murderers, weapons and rooms; there are 216 possible solutions! Only one hard-nosed female detective (played by Merissa Martin) is qualified to unravel the merry mayhem. The colorful cast of Miss Scarlet (Suzie Wons), Colonel Mustard (Jerard Nighorn), Mr. Green (Bill Wons), Mrs. Peacock (Linda Druckrey), Professor Plum (Brandon Byng) and Mrs. White (Sharon Fischer) are sure to leave you dying with laughter. Comic antics, witty lyrics and a beguiling score carry the investigation from room to room. Even after the culprit confesses, a surprise twist delights the audience.
The show will be held at The Byng Community Theater, 5852 Maple Street, Abrams. Opening night will be March 19, 2010 at 7:00p. Shows will follow on March 20 at 2:00p and 7:00p, March 21 at 2:00p, March 26 at 7:00p, March 27 at 2:00p and 7:00p, and March 28 at 2:00p. Tickets for the show are $10.00 for Adults (age 18-64), $8.00 for Seniors Citizens (age 65 and older) & Children (age 5-17), and Children age 4 & under are free. Dinner shows are also available on March 20 & 27. Dinner show tickets are $25.00 per person and include: your ticket to the show, family style chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, dinner rolls, dessert, milk and coffee. Come out and join us to raise money for the March of Dimes on March 20, 2010. We are hosting a charity 9-Pin tournament for everyone to join in and have some fun with. We have put our heads together to come up with some great prizes to give away in our raffles, with much thanks going out to local businesses for their support. We also will be giving a cash prize to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams, and the more teams that come out and bowl, the higher the prize! Form a team of 5, or if you are missing a person, talk to us and we might be able to help, we have had a couple people approach us looking for a team to join. The cost is $20.00 a person, with the money going to March of Dimes. First shift will start at 1:30pm and second shift will start at 5:30pm, with check-in beginning one hour before bowling. Dinner Theatre/Comedy performance of "Bleacher Bums" by FishArtz. Synopsis: In the bleachers of Chicago's Wrigley Field, die hard Cub fans root for their team. The group includes a rabid cheerleader, a blind man who follows the game by transistor radio and does his own play-by-play, a bathing beauty, a nerd and various other bleacher denizens. As the game proceeds, they bet among themselves on every conceivable event, go out for frosty malts or beers, try to pick up the sun-bathing beauty and, occasionally, watch the game.

Monday March 15 Leprechauns change the name of the town to New Dublin for the week, entertain kids, visit the elderly, and appear at various businesses.

Tuesday March 16 Hooligan Day. Corned beef and cabbage is served throughout the week at Midtown Pub and Grill in downtown New Dublin (yes they're back!) Pup's Irish Pub on Hwy 54 in North Dublin and The Waters and Half Nelson's in New Dublin, Shamrock Heights, north of New Dublin, Pine Tree Supper Club, as well as by many other fine local establishments.

Wednesday March 17 - St. Patrick's Day Irish Caroling at St. Joseph Residence and Franklin Park apartments. It's a great way to learn all the traditional Irish sing-a-longs. Song sheets are provided. Meet in the lobby of St. Joseph's at 5:00 pm. We always welcome singers to help us entertain our elderly shut-ins.

Thursday March 18 Irish Entertainment • 7:00 pm - At the New London High School auditorium. Talented artists of New Dublin present an evening of Irish entertainment featuring songs, dances, and humor of Ireland. 47-year-old James "Lurch" Dickson of Shawano was diagnosed with Poly Cystic Kidney Disease (PKD), a genetic disorder characterized by the constant growth of numerous cysts in the kidneys. PKD has now caused James's kidneys to fall into 4th stage renal failure. He is currently undergoing dialysis awaiting a kidney transplant.

The Fox Valley Symphony Announces 2010-2011 Concert Season

Appleton, WI (March 13, 2010) - The Fox Valley Symphony announces the 2010-2011 Season “Beyond the Expected,” designed to captivate audiences with the finest classical music presented in traditional and very unusual ways.
“Our 2010-2011 Season is both traditional and cutting-edge in its creation,” said Brian Groner, Fox Valley Symphony Music Director. Concerts will include Felix Mendelssohn’s “Reformation” Symphony built upon the hymns of Martin Luther; a tribute to photographer Ansel Adams by father and son, Dave and Chris Brubeck; Cirque de la Symphonie with amazing acrobats and others accompanied by the Symphony; and the return appearance of Byron Stripling, trumpeter, in his “The Gospel According to Swing” show. Nationally recognized soloists will include Wendy Warner, Cellist and Faye Seeman, Harpist.
“Without a doubt, our audiences are eager to hear and see symphonic music concerts presented in new and exciting ways. This season brings world-class artists from the classical and jazz worlds and introduces different theatrical elements to enhance our concerts,” said Marta Weldon, Executive Director. “We continue our mission to provide the finest in classical music while attracting new audience members to our concerts.”

Ticket packages range from $61 to $197. FVS season ticket holders receive up to a 17% discount over the same number of single tickets.
