The State of Wisconsin Board on Aging and Long Term Care is currently recruiting volunteer Ombudsman for Northeast Wisconsin nursing facilities. The role of volunteer Ombudsman is to become an advocate for long term care facility residents. Volunteer Ombudsman must pass a rigorous screening process in order to qualify for the position. Food Addicts Anonymous is an organization that believes that Food Addiction is a biochemical disorder that occurs at a cellular level and therefore cannot be cured by willpower or by therapy alone. We feel that food addiction is not a moral or character issue. This Twelve Step program believes that food addiction can be managed by abstaining from (eliminating) addictive foods, following a program of sound nutrition (a food plan), and working the Twelve Steps of the program. This new exhibit at the History Museum hinges on Appleton’s evolution from a fledgling manufacturing town to a modern industrial center. Through a collection of 3,000 photographs, amateur photographer W.D. Schlafer captured this rapidly changing environment during the Progressive Era in the Fox Cities. Visitors will see how much Appleton and the Fox Cities evolved as new technologies and ideas changed the lives of area residents during this transformative period.

This all adds up to a great workout, however the goal of the class is proper technique and to prepare you for the next level of belly dance.

We are having a Sporting Clay Fund Raiser Shoot. The public is welcome, but children must be with an adult and supervised at all times. The paid Sporting Clay shooters get a free meal and a chance at a shooters only raffle. We also have a exciting bucket raffle and a big RAFFLE with big prizes like awesome guns and rod and reels sets. There also are campers weekend and tubing, outdoor wood glider by Mike and Gordon Shulze, a 1/2 day on Lake Michigan with Roger Meyers fishing for Salmon and Lake Trout, 1/2 day Musky Trip by Lay In a Line Guide Service, and much more. Those people not shooting are welcome, for a small fee, to eat at our delicious buffet . At 3:30 the hunters should be done, and we will have the raffles after all is settled down. The money raised will pay for events for our disabled men, women, and children. We have over 30 events and bringing in more. All the disabled need to bring is themselves. We also feed them great meals at most our events. We are trying to fill their lives with fun and the outdoors, which we all know is a great vitalizer.

Praised by the San Francisco Chronicle for its “tonal luxuriance and crisply etched clarity,” 2011 will take Chanticleer to Canada and 22 states in the U.S., including appearances at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National American Choral Directors Association Conference in Chicago. In 2010, Chanticleer gave 14 concerts in 11 European countries, appearing at many of Europe’s legendary concert halls. In June 1020, Chanticleer returned to Shanghai (after its May 2009 China debut tour) as part of the San Francisco delegation to Expo 2010. Other highlights of the 2009-10 season were Chanticleer’s first National Youth Choral Festival in San Francisco, residencies at two American Choral Directors Association conferences, the release of a new recording “Best of Chanticleer,” and an appearance on “Prairie Home Companion.”

A special admission fee covers admission to both the Museum and the Rock, Gem and Mineral Show: $3 for adults and $1 for children (6-15) years old. Members and children five years old and younger are free.

Sam Johnson was born on December 12, 1981 with Biliary Atresia. Between the ages of 6 weeks and 6 years old Sam had two surgeries on his liver. Sam had his first liver transplant at 6 years old, and they gave him 5 to 10 years too live. Sam has had this liver for 23 years. Now due too chronic rejections Sam needs another liver transplant. Because of Sam's deteriorating health he is staying in Sheboygan with his siblings. This alows Sam too be closer too Madison which gives him easy access too the local doctors and hospitals where he would have his surgery in the future. Karoke 12pm to 4 pm 50/50 Raffle Games and Prizes Drink Specials All proceeds will go into a savings account for Sam too use for food and travel expenses during his stay in Sheboygan while he awaits a liver transplant.

The Lakeside Quilters present more than 150 quilts in their show on April 14 and 15. Exhibits and vendors will be at Lourdes High School, 111 N. Sawyer Street in Oshkosh, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, the 14th, and again on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $6.00 and parking is free. Spring into Quilts includes many categories, from hand-quilted bed covers to machine-quilted wall hangings, from home décor to clothing. Members may use traditional or the very latest designs. There will be door prizes, demonstrations by vendors, and items for sale. Lunch and homemade desserts will be available.
