A softball game to raise money for scholarships for people with medical needs will pit NFL football players against Arena League football players at Joannes Stadium in Green Bay on June 8th.
The celebrity charity softball game is sponsored by Ebony Humphrey, wife of Packers tight end Tory Humphrey.
Proceeds from the game will be used to create scholarships for 800 people with medical needs to help them pay for medical equipment, prescription drugs, and other health-related needs.
Organizers say the game will include a home run derby. Players will be paired with a child at the game, and for each home run the player hits, that child will receive a prize.
There will also be a period for autograph signings, and a silent auction of autographed baseball bats and jerseys.
Dignitaries scheduled to appear at the game include Governor Jim Doyle, State Senator Dave Hansen, and Mayor Jim Schmitt.
Tickets go on sale May 14th at the Green Bay Bullfrogs office, 1306 Main Street, or call (920) 497-7255. Tickets are $15 each for general admission, $25 for reserved seating, and $35 for the Dugout Club.
The event is still seeking volunteers and business sponsorships.
