Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist, Patricia McConnell, Ph.D., will present on dog behavior and training at the Lawrence Memorial Chapel on Friday, September 28th at 5:30pm. Ever wondered what's going on inside that furry little head of your pet? Join Patricia McConnell for an inquiry about the mental lives of animals, and learn what new discoveries in neurobiology can tell us about the minds of our companion animals. You'll see slides and videos that discuss problem solving, self awareness, and "thinking" in non-human animals, and have lots to think about yourself when you get home and say hello to your dog or cat! The doors open at 5:30pm and the program will begin at 6:30pm. There will be a short intermission from 7:15-7:45pm with light refreshments. The program will run until approximately 8:30pm and Dr. Patricia McConnell will sign books for the attendees. All proceeds from ticket sales directly benefit the animals in need at FVHA! LovingKindness $60 4 week series
Lovingkindness meditation is a mindful practice that allows one to focus on affirmative and loving expression towards ourselves and others. This 90 minute per session, four week course will teach techniques in breathing and will guide the participant through a series of meditations that begin with directing lovingkindness to ourselves and end with sending lovingkindness to all beings everywhere.This course is good way to develop a practice of mindfulness that will help create positive attitudes, less stress, healing in the physical body and release from pain.

The profits from this Brat Fry will be used for upgrades to the “Isle of Valor” located on the island behind the Memorial building in Smith park, Menasha.
Early 20th-century prints, paintings and drawings from Lawrence University's La Vera Pohl German Expressionist collection and photographs of sculptures and earthworks by Australian artist Andrew Rogers will be featured in the latest exhibition at Lawrence University's Wriston Art Center galleries. The exhibition runs Sept. 21 to Nov. 20.
Erica Scheinberg, lecturer of music at Lawrence, and Leslie Walfish, acting director of the Wriston galleries, open the exhibition with a presentation on German Expressionist music and art, Friday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m., followed by a reception. Free and open to the public.
