with this local history exhibit spotlighting various signs from Oshkosh and surrounding communities. A variety of notable and memorable neighborhood signs will be displayed, including brewery signage, business markers and banners. Remember the Chief Oshkosh Beer sign? Or how about old transit ads? With more than 80 signs on display, dating from the mid 19^th century to contemporary, you’ll be sure to get the message about Oshkosh’s pronounced past.

The 61st Annual Appleton Flag Day Parade is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2011. The parade will feature the United States Air Force and will "Honor Our Desert Storm Veterans". Because of Wisconsin Avenue reconstruction, the parade route begins at State Street and College Avenue, proceeds east on College to Drew Street, and continues north on Drew ending at Erb Park. The event runs about two hours and is recognized as the oldest Flag Day Parade in the nation.

All Saints in Denmark will hold it's annual picnic on Sat/Sun June 11/12. On Saturday, BINGO will kick off the event beginning at noon. Polka Mass is scheduled for 4PM. "Shy Guys" will finish up the festivities beginning at 8PM. A soup cookoff is a yearly favorite and features a "celebrity choice". Sunday, Mass at 10AM and afterwards the "Dorf Kappelle", a German orchastra will provide music beginning at 1PM. Sunday features homemade booyah, pork plate with german potato salad, and dressing. Other fare includes hambergers, brats, hotdogs and a choice of fine refreshements with many imported European beers. The picnic also provides many children's games to keep the youngsters happy.

Door County Habitat for Humanity plans a fundraiser for the weekend of June 10th-12th. Our Executive Director Rick Nelson and his lovely wife Barbara will set up housekeeping atop scaffolding in the Habitat parking lot at noon on Friday. There they will stay until the organization raises $15,000. If our goal is not met by sundown on Sunday, Barbara has threatened to leave Rick, her husband of 39 years. Please help us keep this couple together and support affordable housing in Door County!

1950's monster movies return to Oshkosh on June 11th! "Attack of the Moon Zombies" and "Terror from Beneath the Earth" will screen as a double-feature at the Time Community Theater in downtown Oshkosh, Wisconsin!

The first-ever Northeast Wisconsin Mihmiverse double feature hosted by the official horror host of the Mihmiverse, Dr. Ivan Cryptosis is coming to Oshkosh. In addition to the films, the full program will include era-appropriate newsreels and trailers, intermission entertainment from Dr. Ivan Cryptosis (Curator of the Macabre), the opportunity to meet writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, photos with the title creatures from the films (bring your camera!), and a raffle! DVDs, posters, and other merchandise will be on sale at the event! Rumor has it that a few members of the cast and crew may also attend and will be more than happy to sign autographs!

This event is open to the public and the price of admission is $5.00 at the door.

More than 20 flutists from around the country return to Lawrence University to perform in an alumni reunion recital. The program will include movements from sonatas by Hindemith, Mower, Poulenc and Taktakishvili, a concerto by Reinecke, and an arrangement of Bach’s “Air for the G String” for flute choir.
