Eat Well, Play Well, a special exhibit running April 7 to Sept. 9 at The Building for Kids Children’s Museum, encourages healthy living by teaching the science of making healthy food choices and helping children and adults discover there are many fun and interesting ways to stay active. Visitors will discover through interactive exhibits what an appropriate serving size looks like, see firsthand what it takes to burn off calories, test their flexibility and balance, review the latest clinical research and realize they can reduce their risk of disease with healthy choices

The Green Bay Packers present Football the Exhibit- the Neville’s new, interactive display which explores the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) behind the game! Football includes a mixture of artifacts, text, video and hands-on activities with something for everyone! See how you hold up to a lineman by measuring your strength with the “Grip Tester.” Think you're fast enough to out-run the defense? Then bring your running shoes to the Sprint Track. Football covers everything from the history of the sport, to the equipment, to the cutting edge medical technology used to treat common injuries. You’ll also discover key concepts like collisions, peripheral vision, and balance, too. So what are you waiting for? Put your helmet on, get in there and score a touchdown at Football!
Football the Exhibit is presented by the Green Bay Packers with additional support from Associated Bank, Prevea Sports Medicine and NBC 26. Football has been developed by the Museum of Discovery, Little Rock, Arkansas.

Historic walking tour exploring the center section of Oshkosh’s Riverside Cemetery, first platted in 1887. Using early-20th century newspaper accounts as resources, the tour concentrates on the cemetery as a piece of property which truly reflected and changed with the times. Along the way there will be new stories about people, monuments and landscapes. Tours begin at the Riverside main gate.

Sunshine House Inc. Tenth Annual Cornfest
Who will be having the most fun in Door County on Saturday September 8^th from 9 – 4? It’s a good bet that it will be the crowd at the Sunshine House Tenth Annual Corn Festival who will be wearing the biggest smiles. The Corn Festival will be held at Schopf’s Hilltop Dairy: one mile east of Carlsville on County Trunk I. Proceeds from the festival benefit Sunshine House Inc. and the individuals with developmental disabilities who they serve. What will be causing all of the smiles? This year’s festival will include something for everyone. The Corn Café will be featuring brats, hot dogs, burgers, cheeseburgers, pulled pork sandwiches, corn, chips, cookies, and more. Kid’s games, temporary tattoo artist Kristen Cain, walking the 20 acre corn maze for a donation of $10, corn eating contest, pie eating contest, and tug of war are just some of the activities to participate in. The bakery, music, silent auctions and raffles are always a crowd pleaser. Special guest emcee Bill Jartz from Action 2 News in Green Bay will be joining us to make it a fun-filled day for the entire family. Pink Ribbons and Iron Horses innaugral motorcycle ride for breast cancer will be held on Sept. 8, 2012. Registration opens at 8am. Kick-stands up at 10:15. Ride is 50 miles each direction, riding from Hollanders Pub and Grill, Little Chute, to Iron Buffalo in Menchalville, and back. Riders receive T-shirts, patches, pink bandana, and goodie-bags. upon return, riders receive burger basket, along with entertainment by Dewey Rockem & Howe. Raffles and other fundraising activities will be held. This event raises money for Pink Party Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc., a local 501(c)3 organization. The Panther Pride Run/Walk, formally the Hot Cake Hustle, is a 5K run or walk and a 10K run through Oconto Falls over the Falls Fun Fest weekend. We will be starting and finishing at Memorial Field, the heart of the Falls Fun Festival rain or shine. We will have refreshments during and after the race for the runners. You can pre-register by filling out a form and mailing to the address provided. After the race enjoy the Falls Fun Fest activities then stick around and listen to the band Diamond and Steel from 1:30pm-5:30pm.

The Sole Singers, a youth group that performed concerts and recorded albums from 1968 to 1983, will come together again for a reunion on September 8^th at Erb Park in Appleton. The event will kick off with a Mass at 2:00 PM that will be celebrated by Father Tom Downs, the founding director. A short concert will be performed immediately after the Mass. A cook out will take place afterwards for all former Sole Singers, families and friends. Practice for the mass and concert will begin at 1:00. Appleton Coated LLC is hosting a fund raiser for Northeast Wisconsin Old Glory Honor Flight. Donations by area businesses as well as employees of Appleton Coated LLC have been compiled and the community will have a chance to win these items through a quarter auction being held on September 8 at 1:00 PM. Most items require a donation of $0.25 to $1.00 in order to be in the running to win.

Items range from arranged gift baskets, to valuable gift cards. Memberships to the YMCA, hotel stays and Packer paraphernalia. You won't want to miss this chance to win some prizes as well as help raise money for the Old Glory Honor Flight organization.

We will have safety displays and activities for ALL ages. Sheriff’s Department will visit with their police dog. Adults and children together will enjoy displays on chainsaw safety, fireplace safety, homes and fire safety, candle safety, including dryer safety by the Dryer Vent Wizard. The Oshkosh Police Department seatbelt convincer and snowmobiles provided by Ecklund Motorsports will also be there! Additional safety booths include Liberty Insurance, Fox Valley Stone & Brick, AAA Insurance, WE Energies, and State Farm Insurance. We are also offering FREE car seat inspections by Safe Kids – Fox Valley car seat technicians.
